"I was diagnosed with Wegener's around 6 weeks ago and whilst still being in 'rabbbit in headlights mode', was after a book to help me understand the condition better. Although mine has been focused on the kidney and lungs, the amount of detail has really helped me get a proper feel on what the disease is and what can happen. Really liked the format of scientifically describing symptoms and treatments in depth and then how these related to Alicia in particular. Found the book very difficult to put down and would recommend to anyone who suffers from Wegener's or to anyone with a relative/friend wishing to know more."  -  AJ Boyd

Free copies of my book still up for grabs!

A couple of weeks ago I announced that my book, Alicia: My Battle with Wegener's Disease was available on the iBooks store for Apple devices. I also said that I would give away 10 copies of the book for free. There are still a few copies left, so please get in touch!

Alicia: My Battle with Wegener's Disease is now available for the Nook

Over the past few weeks I have been hard at work converting my book, Alicia: My Battle with Wegener's Disease, into different digital formats. I first wrote the book for Kindle, and it has been available on Amazon since last May. In early February launched the iBooks version of the book for Apple devices. Now you can read the book on your Nook, through Barnes and Noble.

Until now, the book has been exclusively available via Amazon for the Kindle, and using the Kindle app for smartphones, tablets and computers. I am now working hard to make the book available in other formats and the iBooks store is ready first. You can download it from 51 Apple iBookstores. The price is £4.99 in the UK and is the equivalent price in other currencies. The book is $5.99 in the US, for example.

To mark the event I have 10 promotional copies of the book to give away. All you have to do to get the copy of the book is to like my Facebook page here, follow me on Twitter here, and then leave a message on my website blog or complete my contact form. You need to tell me what your name is on Facebook and Twitter so that I can check your details. You also need to tell me which country's iBooks store you will download the book from. I will then send you a code that will allow you to download the book to your device for free.

It would be great if you could then post a review of the book once you have read it, either on this blog, on Facebook or Twitter. I'd love to hear what you think and I'm sure other people would too.

So what are you waiting for? Head over to Facebook and Twitter and then get in touch.

100 Likes on Facebook. Wow! When did that happen?

I logged into Facebook this morning to check that my link to yesterday's Lauren Currie blog post had appeared, and I was delighted to see that my Wegener's Disease Facebook page had passed 100 likes. In fact the total as I write this now stands at 111 likes!

To say I'm amazed is an understatement. I'm so grateful that people have taken the time to like my page and want to keep up to date with Wegener's Disease. There is plenty more news to come.

I am working hard behind the scenes on a number of projects. I have just updated this website, as I talked about in this blog and I am very busy converting my book, Alicia: My Battle with Wegener's Disease to different formats. At the moment it is only available via Amazon for Kindle, but by mid February you will be able to read it on Apple's iBooks, Barnes and Noble's Nook and, the most exciting for me, I will be selling print copies of the book. If anyone out there would like to see the book in any other format, please get in touch.

I'm also looking for people to review copies of the book, to widen awareness of it, so if you haven't read it yet and you would like to, and you can pass on your opinion to others via an organisation, website or forum, please get in touch.

Finally, for those who haven't yet found my Facebook page and liked it, go here. I'm also on Twitter here.

Thank you to all my followers, I really appreciate your support!
